Camille Berko
Editor in Chief of The Bucs’ Blade
About me
Grand Haven’s student publication, The Bucs’ Blade, is known for it’s award-winning coverage of news that matters to the student body and surrounding community. I joined my sophomore year as a reporter, returned my junior year as Managing Editor for Content, and again my senior year as Editor in Chief. Being a part of this publication, I’ve learned lessons I will take with me for the rest of my life.
Writing
I take immense pride in the writing I publish for The Bucs’ Blade. Whether I get to profile a skilled individual, highlight the accomplishments of others, or take on a challenging, deep or controversial story, I always enjoy the creative process and end result of providing a service to my community.
The Best of…
Design
Before joining The Bucs’ Blade I never imagined I would get the opportunity to work with design software and share my work, let alone be successful at it, but here we are. It’s difficult and draining at times, but I’ve grown to love the design process.
Leadership
As Editor in Chief I have many responsibilities, numerous of which I share with my co-Editor in Chief, Grace Montgomery. Together, we help continue The Bucs’ Blade legacy and work to create a productive, effective, and fun journalism environment.
